I did Baviaanskloof on one - no problem.  If you just looking to do good gravel roads - you will not have any issues.

True - but dealer back-up and support is also a consideration - especially if - like me - you have 2 left hands and 10 thumbs.  Peace of mind and the BMW on call makes a trip less stressful.

I went down yesterday and back up today.  A few river crossings with some tricky rocks.  The road has already started washing away with the rain today - and some clay type mud.  Not recommended for a newbie.  Down time was apporx 2 hours, took 2.5 hours coming back up.

Mine chose the Spirit flip-up, has sun visor as well. She has never wanted or used an adventure helmet.

Your day 1 is quite a distance and day 2 short.  Maybe stay in Oudtshoorn the 1st night then to Kareedouw - makes the distances a bit more even and manageable.  The Baviaans itself is in a rough condition and will take at least 4 hours - maybe even longer depending on your skills.
