Buy the Dakar first, then seel the rest of the bikes, I had to do, because I could not get rid of the itch to buy a 1200. (Draadborsels by Middelburg se OTK is nie altyd op 'special' nie...)
After long consideration, my trusty Draadkar is for sale. Bought a 1200GSA, and no time to use both, even though I would have liked to keep it for technical trips.

I had a similar experience lately with my front brake on my Dakar... at the end it was my brake hose that was 'balooning' to such an extent that everytime you would like to use use, there was no resistance and hence no brakes. Not even the usual spongy feeling. Pumping did give some braking...
I Agree with Lecap. Rather ask for 1.4509 (Euronorm spec) / X2CrTiNb18. Or 1.4512 or 409 (AISI pec). Both specifically developed for use in the hot end of auto exhausts. (Cut a piece form your buddie's Alfa. They hav nice big boxes sticking out the rear bumper...)
I had a similar experience about a year ago touring Lesotho. Only heard a 'clucnk' over larger rocksand bumps etc. Got worse, ie. more sensitive to such an extent thatI started 'feeling' the clunk also. Checked everything suspension wise and even stripped the cockpit/fairing at some stage. Could...
Thanks Jughead! I have just done both my forkseals and headset bearings (myself) and this was next on my list. Thanks for the tip Jughead and Michnus of loosening only the two bolts. Also thought I had to take everything apart. (You ous there in PE do the Baviaans water crossing too often I...
www.startline.co.za. They also deliver. Got my Dakar service kit, oil filter and chain sprockets less than a day form JHB. (i'm in Middelburg, MP) They aslo stock breke levers now.... so far the sprockets seems OK. Difficult to judge the chain's life at this stage.
Hi Guys. Sorry for highjacking this (I think?). As this is a Dakar thread I think it is appropaite. Also went on to find sealed battery for my Dakar.
Just to let you guys know, bought one from Capital Batteries in Centurion (Wheeliedog) last week. (Gel battery). Fits perfectly into space and...
