They do a pretty cool job on BMX frames too. They have been around for a few years though.

Long story short - turned out to be a fried rectifier/regulator. The biggest lesson here was to hold on to your old battery. I had the battery centre dispose of a perfectly good spare. I ended up ordering a stock standard to play it safe. Mind you it was a R/R problem, but this is how I got to...
