Any tips on preventing bike theft from a trailer? I guess a chain would be good although I am worried about the rub marks it would leave.
Second point of worry would be that the trailer will be unhitched and towed away. Any ideas on how to prevent the second scenario as well?

I think the difference is that you are in the used trade. There is a definite ceiling in terms of disposable income and the only bikes that are still attractive (for most) falls in the price bracket of second hand bikes.
Do yourself a favor and ask any dealer how many new units they are moving...
You must be seriously delirious if you think that anyone will pick up the distribution in the current depressed market in SA.
There is good reason to part ways and I highly doubt that Triumph will survive this
