Tethers/lanyards/toutjies from the device around the frame or handlebar. The Montana and Inreach have tie-down points, no need for glue in my case.
I've never had them fall out of the mounts, but this is cheap insurance.
I used to commute daily for 12+ years between Roodepoort/Bryanston and Centurion/Bryanston. Mostly to save time in traffic.
Nowadays I commute between the bedroom and study by foot, or take the train into the city for office days. It is much cheaper, safer, more comfortable and stress-free on...
Ek het uiteindelik bagasierakke en sakke op die AT gesit.
Kriega OS 32 x2 kant sakke (32 liter)
Kriega OS 6 tool sak (6 liter)
Outback Motortek X rakke (geen ekstra backing plate nodig vir die sakke nie)
Ek ry al baie lank met hierdie tool sak, maar ek het die res verlede naweek vir die eerste...
I rode day 1 with a local group who went on a 4 day ride. Most guys were on 400-650 class singles, and the AT was by far the porkiest. It was hard work to get through the thick rutted clay bog holes and steep rocky climbs, but I somehow came through unscathed.

I took a varsity buddy from ZA on a forest/plantation ride. First dirt ride on his "new" secondhand adventuratised Suzuki DR650.
We ended the day at a small town pub for a beer and a burger

High spot in the Yarra Ranges mountains, east of Melbourne. I was expecting to see some snow on the ground, but no luck. It was 4'C at 14h00 though...

I have the Barkbusters with Storm guards. I like them, and they can take a beating.
Had the BB VPS guards too but they are too small and don't provide enough protection from the elements for my mostly cool and wet climate.
Water crossing looked deep, I opted to ride across the foot bridge seen in the background.
Nice picnic and camping spots for self-sufficient campers. No services, no cell reception either.
River crossing was deep and rough. This guy struggled for traction.
Check that massive tree...
