I would be interested to see the outcome. My 2002 Dakar also acting up with idle issues - fast idle when hot - low idle and stall when cold etc. Throttle reset only offer temperary fix.

Be sure to replace the 2x plastic drive gears as well. Consumable items.

Source of the leak not entirely clear.  Could also be faulty oil seal on the starter gear housing, where it enters crankcase. Best to clean up the mess, and then confirm source of leak.

Any accessive oil in the airbox? Some high milage f650's blow oil via the counter rotating shalft oil seal through the crank breather pipe.

You need a GS 911 tester, or secod f650 to swap out components.

You've done some extensive fault finding.  Bike's got compression, fuel and spark.  Why does it not run when cold.

Seems like oil tank overfill oil return line to tappet cover. Remove plastic tappet cover, drill out hole and fit a metal nipple.
