Did you have any success selling your bike in this section?

Posted an ad to of my 2006 F650GS, BMW's second hand listings and emailed to a bunch of friends. Most of the contacts came from Forum members. I was in a hurry, so made my own research about similar bikes and pushed the starting price down so that it was more than reasonable. Also, many Forum...

    F 650 GS

Thanks for all the PMs and comments! Bike finally changed hands today (to another forum member). Those of you who have similar panniers should not sell them separately the day you're upgrading, because it must have been those panniers that caused quite a bit of interest for the bike as well...

    F 650 GS

Maybe I should start by saying that I'm not Israeli  :peepwall: - My roots are from Scandinavia, and I'm proud of them even without the motorsport genes that many of my friends have  :ricky: And yes, don't speak/read/write Afrikaans. Also, promised the bike to one of the forum members already...

    F 650 GS

Ras, Overall condition is good in my opinion for a 20-year old car, but I don't really have benchmarks that I could compare. Small things here and there, which I suppose can be expected. Also, unfortunately I'm relying on technicians to service the car, so can't really comment about the engine...

Bike standing - newbie in trouble

Thanks for all the advice once more! It took for a while to adjust the chain but finally did it last week (Man I'm so surprised to find out how big the difference between the tightest and most loose point is!). It was raining most of the days I was at home and then I ended up buying wrong size...

    Ben Schoeman riders

Allandale to Lynnwood and return between two and five times a week. Usually hit the highway before six in the morning and going back again after six... Done it ever since I bought my 650GS, for 10 months now (10k km), no accidents but once almost hit a brick in the middle lane and other time...

Bike standing - newbie in trouble

Spoke to a KLR rider yesterday in Pta who explained me what to keep in mind when tightening the chain. Easier to understand the points that Aicorner mentioned when I was able to see equivalent parts... I think I'll manage the tightening part. Rufus115: Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure if...

    I went down on Wednesday

Hectic. Speedy recovery and glad that no one was hurt. Btw, I would think that insurance companies (or fellow drivers without any insurance) would try to give us hard time for accidents that happened when filtering?

Bike standing - newbie in trouble

It is indeed time to start opening the secrets of bike mechanics. And btw, I've got he Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, but read it before buying the bike. Good idea  :thumleft:

Keep on coming, it is easy to kick a man when he's on the ground. But yes, I've deserved it  :binkybaby:

Bike standing - newbie in trouble

Aicorner, Thanks for the note. I thought it is serious since the chain is touching other parts :) Sounds like an easy job, but I'm terrible with mechanical tasks. But you're right, I'd like to learn how to do the basics on my own. What tools do I need for the job? And sorry about the stupid...

Bike standing - newbie in trouble

Thanks. I planned to replace the sprockets and chain in the next few weeks when I was going to do some other stuff for the bike. Since the chain was not really loose at all on Friday morning, the wear would have been quite fast. Anyways, I suppose I need to get a trailer to the the bike to a...
