Thanks for the input and positive comments; I will definitely follow up on the leads and contacts provided. It is a standard 690R with an Alberto Dottori tank and fairing kit; along with stickers and some other bitts-and-bobs. 

I just completed upgrades to my 690. I still need to fit a road-book, does anyone has a second –hand one laying around?

Thanks for all the input but it looks like I may be the first in SA to attempt this build. The problem is that the fairing comes with an aluminium sub-frame which needs to be attached by drilling 2 x 8mm wholes thought the steering-head. I am not to keen to start drilling into the frame...

I am currently converting my KTM 690 R with Alberto Dotorri’s African Race kit. Has anyone done similar projects because I need some help?
