Yesterday, for the first time I removed and installed new steering steering bearings on my XT1200Z. I was surprised when a friend told me that he has never changed his steering bearings with over 100 000kms.  So, why it that I had changed about 6 sets? I decided to investigate.  Removing and...

Even at 200k, she will still be going strong.  The S10 is built like a tank. Maintain it and she will keep riding forever. :ricky:

Received my socket in the post, spent time yesterday servicing the bike.  I found that the two ring nuts completely loose.  Cleaned both bearings, lubed them generously and put back everything as  I found it. Lower nut torque 52NM, then loosened, then final torque 18 NM.  Top nut 130NM. Done...

Is the Pirelli STR a new tyre on the market?  Forgive my ignorance. :lol8:

I used to get about 36,000-39,000 on that tyre on the XT1200Z :ricky:  I have not used the E07+.  My next tyre though.
