I was once told that you should pressurise the brake system after bleeding it, by forcing brake fluid into a sealed system through the bleed nipple. Obviously not a clever idea, but could an "over pressurised" system not be your problem? (However that may have occurred.) Maybe crack the nipple...

I also have the same intermittent problem, but mine doesn't seem to be going away like Dish's. Doesn't seem to effect anything, but is irritating. Even more so because it's a "front brak switch" error.

Maybe get a piece of Perspex or hardboard, cut the same size as the bag, slide inside the bag on the bike side to stiffen up the bag and hopefully prevent it from wrapping around the handle towards the back wheel. Might make the protrude out too much though. I guess you could heat up the Perspex...

Nope. Personally, never felt the need. Prefer the original screen, but if I'm doing a really long road trip the touring screen is more than enough.

I saw a 1290 S at this year's Red Cherry Rally Raid that had also "blown" a rear shock. Not sure what happened, but it was on a trailer with the rear fender on the back wheel. Riding was not that heavy, neither was the rider, but not sure how hard he was riding it though.
