Unfortunately the only way that a rider does not register at an ASS is if he has not arrived there yet.  We need to grab onto another straw while we hope against the odds.

Unfortunately, it cannot be a tracker issue as the riders are updated manually at each CP if they are not tracking.

Upholding an appeal now would completely undermine the ASO and the credibility of the Dakar. They would be admitting that they made a serious error that rendered the final result academic.

The fact of the matter is that the penalty came early on and changed how KTM needed to ride for the win. They did not need to run open taps as Honda have. No Vinnie is right on track. Yesterday he went from P55 to P25. There are a lot of riders behind him that are pushing to get back their time. He is running at 9min per hour off the leaders having been 14min/hour until now. We were expecting this and are not panicking yet.
