When I press the start button the bike starts but it makes a weird whirring sound while the start button is being pushed. As soon as I let go the sound stops and the bike runs as usual. It's a 2011 xr650L. It's been doing it for while now and doesn't seem to be getting worse. Any ideas?

Feedback. I tried what you suggested and light came on. So issue with the switch. Then I thought maybe during all my fiddling I had connected the switch the wrong way around. Doh! After wiring it correctly it all worked. Sorry Honda for all the swearing.

Hi all, On my 2014 XR650L the front right and rear left indicator light are not working. I've tried swapping bulbs with the working ones and that did not work. I also had a look at fuses. Any ideas? Are these opposing indicators somehow linked? It's just weird that 2 opposite lights stop working...
