Lot of new stuff on the market these days but in this country the undisputed king of adventure jackets is still the BMW Rallye Suite but they are pricey. But on the web Klim Dakar Jacket for R4000.00 at FC Moto whoever they are.

I eventually bought a Fenix CL30 R which comes with 3 x 18650 batteries included (2600 mAh) On 100 lumens lasts for days using for 4 hours per night. On 350l about 6/7 hours but only need that amount if you need loads of light. On 650l hell bright but that is for braging rights. Quite expensive...

The problem with most lanterns is they give off a lot of light on full lumens but that chows power. So I am looking for something that has a lower setting that gives around 200 odd lumens but not on full power. Problems with all this stuff is you can't try before you buy. The better units are...

Hi , I need to get a new re-chargeable led lantern. Does not necessarily have to be compact as will be in the cage. Preferably the type that runs on 18650 Lithium batteries ( Not a must) And be able to last a while on higher output. Probably need 200 lumens or more to light up a campsite. Also...

Can I put 50c worth in. Honda definitely better for open road touring. You will get tired of the big single. In saying that my Dakar took me many comfortable miles. However I would try opt for a lower milage unit especially as both same price. Be patient you will find one at right price.

Agree with Dwerg. Maybe a KTM 200 for a year would be a great learning platform. Provided bike is well maintained and in good nick don't over think "Just Do It"  :biggrin:
