Re: DR not starting - still not SORTED

Thank you , Katana no I turned the choke off and the bike stalled 10 mins or so later I  then tried to start again , I do think its my spark plugs - well I hope as the other problems are expensive and difficult to check unless I have another Dr to swop parts out with . I Cleaned the spark plugs...

New Africa Twin - so who's buying one?

I did this , had some leather bags made that fit a 5L in exactly - standard plastic container found all over Africa . When I needed to have more range I found one of those plastic containers and filled it with fuel ( only three times in 16 000km around Southern Africa ) , otherwise I used the...

Re: DR not starting - still not SORTED

Started the bike this morning no problem , it was cold so had the choke on , rode down to a farm building and parked the bike , thought I would let it idle for a while while I turned pumps on , pulled the choke back to normal and immediately the bike stalled . Didn't think much, thought the bike...

Re: DR not starting - still not SORTED

thank you for your time in answering , ya you are right , I left the bike again on charge last night and I just put a hair dryer into the spark plug holes to dry things - then I properly cleaned the spark plugs and sanded them down with a rougher grit sandpaper than what I used over the weekend...

Re: DR not starting - still not SORTED

when I touch the side of the engine casing with the spark plugs there doesn't seem to be any spark , when I hold it a bit away from the casing I get a spark that travels from the top of the electrode to the casing , same with both the spark plugs, will go and clean and sand them again - starting...

    CRF250 Rally/DS

I own a 250L and a DR650 - the DR is much more fun , feels about the same weight but is able to power out of mud and sand much easier, its a better bike for difficult terrain for me, the 250 just doesn't have that extra push somehow - took a friend riding in the forest here in Knysna on the 250...

Why all the squabbling about bike weight?

for the die hards you could cut the corners off your maps , remove all the labels from things and cut your tooth brush shorter - might be easier than dieting

Why all the squabbling about bike weight?

it comes down to picking the thing up at the end of the day not so much the weight while upright but I guess the shocks might disagree

    Angie’s G spot demolitions 7 May help

I have just gone through the process of getting a liquor license in the Eden/Bitou municipality area. It wasn't cheap by any means . To achieve this my first step was to have plans drawn for all the buildings on the farm , when we bought the farm it had an existing structure on it , a sort of...
