The organisers showed some impressive skills, adjusting the courses to still keep them relelvant to most.
Km for Km is was harder than say Bronze 2019 but only doing 56km on a day does not hammer you as hard as 130km.
Even in the slippery conditions.
Overall it was still a successful event...
I see a dude I know there, dont think he finished Silver.
It was particularly BRUTAL this year,
All the other classes has typical attrition rates, around 10-20% while Silver was over 50%.
If you go and ride those tracks in the dry, you will have a very different experience.
In that video posted above you see our team in the beginning and then see us walking and falling down the rocks at the end.
We hit that climb people are crying about in the hail and rain. It was a mess.
I used Metzeler 6DE last time, a fresh new Super Soft each day.
I'm likely going to go a single Soft Metzeler on Thu/Fri and a Mitas double green on Saturday.
What is your thinking of tyre for mud vs tyre for rain?
I am thinking a Mid with soft mousse will be better for muddy areas. The rocks are damn slippery in the actual rain so no matter what you use you are fooked.
Would a harder tyre not clear mud and cut traction easier?
