    This screen is killing me...

I have a Givi/Kappa Airstream and a Wunderlich deflector lying in my workshop, welcome to try them out. PM me if interested. Live near Stellenbosch. They for the f800 Adventure. I have also obtained a slightly damaged origional screen that I am going to shorten bit by bit to see if that will...

    Basecamp to Zumo routing problem.

Had the same problem with routes, now convert all my routes to tracks on BC, make sure you give them a name that you will recognise and a different colour for each track on tour trip. I normally "store" the routes on BC and delete them on the zumo when not used. You can then just load the tracks...

Building a Uni-Trailer for a Bike - DONE FOR NOW

To expand on the hole through the back wheel of th bmw boxer rear wheel. Make a quick remove split spindle (to go in from each side shaped exactly like the hole) with Vesconite or similar material, tube collar running through it and a long bolt to hold the tow bracket, similar to the trailer on...

Building a Uni-Trailer for a Bike - DONE FOR NOW

Just seen this thread tonight. I think you need a trapesium that alows side to side movement with a built in damper, the universal being between the trapesium plates, this will prevent the traler from steering your bike, the other point is that the closer it is to the rear axel, the less...

    Forum members TW 200 thread

Did a complete rebuild of an old wrecked tw, amongst other replaced the rear drum, it is a loose drum, took a while to seat the brakes after fitting new drum and shoes, check the inside diameter, the wear limit on the rear drum is 111mm, it will still work but on a smaller contact area.

Thanks Losper, fantastic "road", assume on that kind of stuff you are on a manual AT, DCT would be a problem for me on that kind of stuff, would have to take ot easy over the rocks, clutch and throttle?  🤔

    Africa twin weight??

Had a ride on a manual one on tar, felt much the same weight wise as my f800gs adventure, not sure if it had centre stand and crash bars on, enjoyed the ride so took a look at the specs, was suprised by how "heavy" it was on paper. Have you fitted centre stand and crash bars, rear rack? Any idea...

    Africa twin weight??

Meant 243kg for the etc, only 17kg difference?

    Africa twin weight??

Bit puzzled about the weight, would have expected a lighter weight? The Dual clutch version weighs 232kg, without center stand, crash bars, luggage racks, spot lamps, decent pegs and 10 extra liters of fuel all standard on the monstrous 1200gs adventure that weighs 260kg fully fueled???  Add...

    BMW 800 GSA windscreen

I agree, shorter windscreen would work, if I stand up on the F800gsa the airflo is clean and quiet (bmw DS helmet and earplugs) but the moment you sit down the buffeting is unbearable. Have also tried wunderlich deflector and Kappa Airflo screen, the wunderlich deflector makes no difference...

    Accelerator Module on a F650 / F800 GS/A

Hi J Question,we put the thermocouple under the headlamp cluster, what will happen if I go to Sutherland  and start the day at -5C?  The thermocouple would then possibly have a very high resistance, or is it linear with the density of th cold air? Would the location under the seat not be better...
