Yeah both of them.  They quoted a top end rebuild, new countershaft and the 4th gear shaft replacement for 33k. At that price I'd rather sell the bike if it needs a engine rebuild at 55000km. Bike doesn't use oil and I change it every 3000km. Cant believe that these bikes will need a new top end...

So the guys I've taken it too have said it smokes upon starting the bike. I will find out more in the morning as I got emailed a quote this afternoon. Is the rebuild common at this mileage? I took it in originally as my fourth gear makes a noise, they have opened it up and the input and output...

At what mileage has anyone had to rebuild the top end on a xr650l?(2013 model) I've just been quoted a shit load and my bike is on 55000km. Sound about right? My fourth gear needs to be replaced too. Does this bike have gearing issues in general? :spitcoffee:

I have a clattering noise coming from the left side of the engine. It's only when the bike is in 4th gear and hand off the accelerator. When I pull the clutch in it will stop the noise. The gears all change smoothly and the bike runs perfectly. The bike is on 52000km, xr650l 2013 model. I have...

Awesome thanks guys, I called bearing man and they only have a brand called BTC made in china. They go for 50 bucks a bearing. The guy doesnt sound confident in them. Is BTC worth it or will they break in 2 months?

Okay so my steering bearings are stuffed after 15500km... Is this a standard thing at this mileage? Honda wants 900 bucks for a new set... A guy I know cant source them anywhere else. Please help me out here peeps... :eek7: ???
