Currently on a Yamaha XT600E (2005). I bought the bike with it on about 5 yrs ago. Can anyone ID the silencer/muffler? No markings on it. It's louder than stock muffler, with quite a deep sound, that's the only info I can offer. Thanks

I'm thinking, if the barrel position is way off at zero throttle "rest" position it wont even start. On my previous XT I remember that if that idle setting screw gets too far out of range, starting becomes very difficult. Its an SR500 and my kicking leg is not in the mood for too much exercise...

This follows on from my yesterday "what carb" question. I'm doing a quick clean and rebuild of than Mikuni VM34-type carb, stock on early XT500 / TT500 / SR500's - just need some advice if anyone can help. On the left side of the carb there's that 'hot start' button and also the idle speed...

Can anyone identify this carb model? It's running on an early 80's SR500 but I don't think it's the stock carb - I suspect it's off an old XT or TT500 maybe? Thanks

Early 1980's XT500 vs SR500 carburettors - anyone know the difference (if any) and would they be interchangeable? I heard somewhere that the SR500 came out with a Mikuni 34mm carb and the XT500 with a Mikuni 32mm but can't find accurate info. Thanks

I got a very clean v-strom and very clean XT600, both under 40k. V-strom would be perfect and goes for ever. So would a KLR. Or Transalp. If he’s not in a hurry, there are some good bikes in that price range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can’t comment on the dealer issue but I’m surprised that any bike would be “pissing oil” from the forks after only 10,00 k’s. And even more surprised if the cause was a ride in heavy rain with some mud. Maybe a year of muddy rides, but one day? I’ve ridden a honda XR650R for years in bad...

I got the same one orange / back. So far happy with it, but helmet choice comes a lot down to fit. Tried a few in that range and and the ONeil just fitted me better, just personal. For protection they’re all probably similar in that price range but  I was also influenced by one dog here on the...

These modern bikes are amazing. On my old XT you have to twist this whole rubber grip under your right hand to change from normal to high performance mode.
