Here in Ontario it is not required by law. You only get a small discount on your insurance if you fit winter tires, and a surprising number of people dont seem to think its needed. They do perform a lot better when its cold and snowy, but ice still is very slippery!

We are still in Canada, in London Ontario.

We also came to Canada on work permits 2 years ago. Applied for permanent residency after 1 year (you get extra points for 1 year Canadian work experience). We were lucky in that it only took 3 months for the PR to be finalized.

The first time was as I just started to learn. Little dog comes yapping at my feet, so I stop as I am afraid I might ride over it....just where there happens to be a hole where I try to put my foot down so down we go. Nobody around so I had to learn how to lift the bike by myself. Broke the end...

When we did a trip trough Europe a few years ago we used https://www.imtbike.com. We started in Spain. They seemed good value at the time.
