    That is very possible as 90% of my riding has been done on a dirt road between De Hoop Nature Reserve and Bredasdorp, usually following a vehicle making lots of dust.

    If I open my throttle too much, the motor dies on my KLR 650. Makes overtaking a bit of a problem. Any clues as to how to fix this problem?

    Unfortunately, I am in the Overberg area, the nearest Silvertons, is Somerset West, 300 kms away., but its definitely an option. Perhaps a courier?

    I tried using some weird stuff called "Weldit", but it didn't work. The bike is now with Overberg Suzuki, so hopefully, they will manage to fix it. If not, I guess it's EBay or lecap

    The interesting thing is that the final piece of the puzzle was simply a timing issue. Once the Suzuki guys in Bredasdorp reset the timing, she ran like a beauty again. Since then, I have a new timing chain, new (standard) sprockets and chain, new disc brake pads and it's like having a new KLR...
