I just sold my Bmw R1200 GS (sad I know). I would like to buy a Ktm 500 EXC. Is the bike fit to do long distances, like say Pta to Cape and back, I know it will never be as comfortable as the GS was. I did this section of road called the "poort" in December '23 It has been resurfaced and in excellent condition. The gravel pass through Avotuur to Plett was a bit rough in some places but not all that bad. I did do the route in a bakkie though and not on the bike, but it is very doable with a bike

I made a turn at Bmw Motorad Centurion and asked one of the machies there about the collars. Apparently the collars where fitted as part of the recall the R1200gs LC had (2013-2017) afaik. The new forks I now fitted are from a later model 2017 and were not part of the recall and didnt need that...
