Tires in Swakopmund or do I have to go to Windhoek

Thanks heaps everyone. Including for the flushing toilet. ;-) Got a few more leads now. Don't like putting people out so I'll shoot of some more mails. I'm basically just after a DOT knobby like a D606, T63, TKC80, that sort of stuff. We won't be there until late May but this trip is a little...

Tires in Swakopmund or do I have to go to Windhoek

So he only has metzeler which don't do a dot knobby. He's trying to get me to take their mx line. It needs to be able to do 8000km of African sand and rocks and a couple days on tar to Dar on a loaded bike. Don't think that'll happen on those soft tires. I've asked if he could special order some...

Tires in Swakopmund or do I have to go to Windhoek

Not sure if this is the right place for this post but it's ride planning related for me. I'm probably going to need some tires when I get to Swakopmund. Are they available or can they be arranged there? Or will I have to go to Windhoek. It's not really on the route right now. Cheers

    Swazi Weekend Boner

Fair enough. I broke my humerus in 2012 and wasn't sure it would have helped either. All went very fast. Was just wondering. Now I have one though I wouldn't ride without it anymore. Probably a physiological thing most of the time, but what a great piece of kit. In Baja it kept me straight...

    Botswana Dirt Route

Is there any fuel along the North side of the delta? I'm thinking that I may circumvent any park gates and plead ignorance on the other side? Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk

    Botswana Dirt Route

Thanks mate. Appreciate your help. I am half way through your first ride report. Saw some of those vids. It looks great. I'll look at the rest later today. Was contemplating the ellies issue myself. Need to get my Mrs to learn proper tight u turns and pivot turns. She's a bit slow on that...

    Botswana Dirt Route

Awesome. That's great news. I'll have a look at your ride reports. I got that news on park restrictions from horizons. This is the route I'm considering. Blue is tar and magenta dirt. Don't think there is any avoiding this blue but I'm open to suggestions. Rides like this are always a...

    Botswana Dirt Route

I'm planning a trip on 2x WR250R's for next year and I'm trying to accommodate my chronic allergy to tarmac. Botswana seems to have a lot of it. Most dirt routes that I see cross national parks that won't (so I'm told) allow bikes to cross. Does anyone have any route suggestions? I don't have...

    Stupid Questions...

Good info being shared here. I'm actually in the same boat but my trip is few years away yet. But being an avid rough camper (the more remote the better) often wandered about the large wildlife. I've camped in heaps of countries where wildlife is an issue (Australia and Caucasus where wolves are...
