The winch is rated at 2000 lbs. I believe it draws about 30A and has its own circuit breaker, not a fuse. I have never stressed it enough to break the circuit and that includes pulling it straight up. That was easy, it really will pull 2000 lbs. I have this same winch on my Arctic Cat...
The WINCH is for really tough terrain: 4WD roads, rock crawling roads, trails with ledges or steps and possibly for winching it out of a ravine if you blast off the trail. I have not had to use it in the field yet where it was all or nothing. But the testing I've done, it works just great...
