Happens with all GSs after a while. It's the nukels of the drive shaft that have developed alittle rattle. Gets much worse the more km you get on the bike. (all according to BMW mechanic), 100% safe. You can put in a thicker oil by the drive shaft and it will reduce the noise substantially but...
