    Bike trailer wheel camber problem

I have a (cheaper) Lazy Loader imitation trailer with exactly the same problem.  Had the axle removed and checked - it is tru.  However, the frame onto which the axle is bolted not square upright, and bends the axle when it is fastened.  If this is the problen, take it to a panel beater that can...

Hi Corrie. Thanks for the reply. I bought a MotionPro for hollow end pins only.  I did not read the box outside 😡. Where did you buy yours?

    F800GS chain master link problem

I now feel like the farmer who, for this trouble, ended up with only a seperator and a bull. I am replacing the chain on my F800GS with a BMW original.  I then duly bought the MotionPro breaker and riveting tool.  Now I realise that the master link supplied by BMW has solid pins, and the...

    F800GS rear sprocket bolt torque

I found the answer - it is 10 Nm initial torque, plus a 90 degree turn.  Daar is nie pile vir dit nie.

    F800GS rear sprocket bolt torque

The Haynes manual specifies 10 Nm initial torque and 90 Nm final torque for the rear sprocket bolts. There is something wrong with the 90 Nm - does anyone know what it should be ?

    Adendorf Chain breaker and riveter

I inspected the Adendorf chain breaker today, and it looks flimsy.  The threaded bolt has a loose fit.  I also saw ones in similar packaging on youtube that broke (I think on first use).  So  I bought the MotionPro - I removed the first chain pin today, and worked like a charm.  I will report...

    Adendorf Chain breaker and riveter

I am replacing the chain and sprockets on my F800GS and want to buy a chain breaker and riveter.  I know Adendorf tools are sometimes a but flimsy, but e.g. the blind bearing extractor works like a charm.  Has anybody used the chain breaker and riveter from Adendorf ?  Any other suggestions of...

F800GS rear wheel bearing replacement question

F800GS rear wheel bearing replacement question

I have a 2012 F800GS with 50 000km.  I have replaced the 2  bearings in the rear wheel hub.  Heating the hubs for a minute or so with a heat gun made the removal much easier with the blind extraction tool.  I therefore also pre-heated the hubs before driving in the new bearings.  The Haynes...

F800GS fork bushings - now the main suspects

I received the rebuilt forks from the dealer.  I could not detect any significant wear on the old bushes, but the freeplay between the forks in extended position is now resolved.  Also no clicing noise when testing for feeplay.  I took the bke for a short test ride through the suburb, and it...

F800GS fork bushings - now the main suspects

It was R1400 odd for the bearing puller and driver set at Adendorf in Randburg.. A complete set of 5 bearings, seals and the tools was about R2000, the same as a change of bearings would have cost at the dealer.

    Greece in Oct 2017

With wife as pillion, I was not planning to do any off-road, so mostly tar.  I will have a look to find a club or forum in Greece for advice - good point.

    "Bounce" at low, constant speeds

Add worn fork bushes to your list.  You can check for it by raising the front wheel and yanking the wheel perpendicular to the forks.  Easily confused with worn steering head bearings when doing this. This test is more sensitive with the tyre removed.  Also, the root cause can have a number of...

F800GS fork bushings - now the main suspects

Hi BlingKing I have buyers remorse now.  Do you do general services as well, or only suspensions?

F800GS fork bushings - now the main suspects

Thanks for the note BlinKing. On closer inspection, one of the front wheel bearings was rough.  The delaer had removed the wheel twice in as many months, and did not bother to check if the bearings could be the cause of the vibration.  I suppose I should have asked them specifically to check. ...
