Ha ha what an unforgettable adventure we had together! Henry who? Was the buzz word around the campfire that night. Although I had made the group now considerably late for the overnight stop and rain was looming! I must say I still get a few die hard motorcyclist groupies asking me if I am the...

He has progressed to Honda nxr125 now he is eyeing my Africa twin. Luckily he just got his car license,  or lucky...

    Mita Tires

I have a set on my Africa Twin, the most practical balance between off / on road. So far good mileage, nice grip in gravel and softer stuff. Strong sidewalls, increased vibration. Can be a bit happy on the rear on wet tar if you are bit heavy on the pigs ear. Had enough of Bridgestone 's letting...

    Mounting options for registration placard

I cover the whole disc with clear adhesive plastic film a leave 10mm all around and stick it on the inside of my left hand/Bush guards. Keeps it safe from the rain and grime. Never lost one since doing this. Lost many of those stupid holders that attach to the swingarm in the past Born to Ride...

    Clipping mirrors while lane splitting?

I moved from Cape Town more than 20years ago, but spent most of my working career commuting by bike from southern suburbs to Montague Gardens. Obviously lane splitting as one does. When I went down and stayed with friends I told them that in one morning I had clipped 3 mirrors recently. I can...

Hard braking,  mine are similar, pay close attention to tyre pressures and make sure your shocks are still good. Do more off-road!!!! Born to Ride - Forced to Work!

Soft Luggage - What do you think?

Another practical aspect of having soft luggage is that if you have a habit of coming off, they take a lot more punishment,  don't break your bones and as I've witnessed many times, explode on impact spewing you entire weekends debauchery kit all over the Karroo! Born to Ride - Forced to Work!

Front Tyre going flat at high speed

Lost air from my front tyre due to puncture fix going wrong and two cuts in my front tyre, had a big off 1km from Aberdeen on the only bit of tar we rode for days. Africa twin had less damage than me,  but I still road it home via an overnight stop and plenty of duct tape for me! Born to Ride...
