You could take it for hard chroming. I have had electric motor shafts repaired with similar damage. Works brilliantly!!! In my case any welding would have bent the shaft due to the thickness of the material. Whereabouts are you based ? Have also had a crank on my Gamma welded and machined back...

Hi all, My Zumo vrekked on Sunday. Turned ignition  on. It started up as usual. I didn't need it so turned it off. Tried to switch it on later and nothing...... Have tried the zoom out - power button reset. Taken battery out overnight. Plugged it into the charger via USB. Still no joy ...
