Hi Len, it was first registered 28/08/2011 and it just had it's 15 000km service done this weekend. It has a full service history with KTM dealers, well this being only the 2nd service after the required 1000km service. I have done minor servicing after about every 3000km, air filters, oil...

Thanks for the reply, what mileage was the bike on and also what year model? What was worst off, the chipped piston? If something has to be replaced first what would you start with? To improve the life of the motor?

I think the ideal design would be something more like this... The top picture is was more of a guideline.

I am currently looking to fit two of these plastic ones, because I have one already. Or a set of the Chrome ones, obviously depending on the price and ergonomic fit on the bike.

Ja, it does look like a feeble design on that bike. I have a stock Leo Vince to plug into it. Luckily...
