    790 R vs 890 R

I think to know just how good the 890 R is you need to have ridden the 790 R. KTM have taken a fantastic bike (the 790) and have upped the game to produce a bike which is truly next level. Having done > 15000km( almost all off road) I decided to go for the 890 R and am absolutely blown away by...

    Royal Enfield Himalayan

a couple of years ago a friend and I rode the himalayas of India for 5 weeks on just released R E Himalayans ( which I did report on here on Wilddog). Very capable bikes, strong and simple with good suspension. Yes underpowered but perfect for Indian conditions particularly in the Himalayas...

    Rear Shock

I join the ranks of failed rear suspension. Totally blown after a baviaans trip. Apparently will require complete replacement as they are not serviceable.

    crash bars

Must say that I agree that the need for the bars is debatable but personally I like the look it gives the bike, kinda distracts from those bulbous fuel tanks and reminds me of my 1190, my favourite bike ever. Cost R5k

    crash bars

Touratech lower cash bars. Nice fit, fairly subtle, non obtrusive. I think they enhance the look of the bike. Expensive, but WTF.......Just be aware they come with a bracket which attaches to the original bash plate. Very solid bracket, actually strengthens the plate I think.

    replacement brake lever 701

Hi all. Bike dropped taking off bakkie and managed to snap the brake lever(front) clean off. I'm battling to find a replacement. Has anyone out there who may have upgraded to 2 finger levers, have an original brake lever for sale? My bike is 2018 701 enduro. Thanks.

690/701/PR7 - The best adventure/DS bike on the planet!!

Didn't really want to get into this whole debate but I'm such a fan of the Husq 701 Enduro, I had to say something. I own a 701 and have recently acquired  KTM 790 Adventure R on which I've done close to 2500kms. So is the 701 the best adventure/DS bike on the planet? In my opinion, yes! It is...

    Noneking's 790R thread

mmmm...... when you switch on you should first see the bluetooth sign activate at the bottom left of the screen next to the time, and then shortly after, "GPS" appears next to it, indicating that you are linked to the nav app.

    Noneking's 790R thread

To get navigation to work: first your dealer needs to do the software upgrade so that "navigation" registers on your screen. You must download the KTM my ride navigation app on to your phone (costs about R120). Then pair your phone to the bike via the my ride menu. Then chose your destination on...

    701 clutch slave cylinder

OK now that I've dealt with the clutch problem, when can I expect the fuel pump to pack in? Bike on 6500Knms

    701 clutch slave cylinder

OK got my Oberon eventually, lots of hassles with customs for some reason and Fedex weren't particularly efficient, and of course I had to pay R485 import duty. Anyway got it, work of art. Fitted, works like a dream. I am going to be in the UK from mid July to mid August so if anyone on the...

    701 clutch slave cylinder

Hi everyone, the clutch slave cylinder on my 701 Enduro seems to have packed up. Have read of that happening fairly often on the 701 facebook site. Does anyone know where I can source either a Recluse or Oberon replacement locally? Thanks

    Royal Enfield talk

Not sure what's "tragic" about the Himalayan but the point is that in India, Royal Enfield is everywhere so help is readily available, that's another reason why its "the horse for the course". Of course I could give a list of 20 bikes just as capable, if not more.

    Royal Enfield talk

Well if you really want to you can ride any bike anywhere, like a super bike around the world as has been done, but if we're talking horses for courses, the RE Himalayan is the horse for the Himalayas. No doubt in my mind. Forget about riding a big bike there, just wouldn't work. Try getting...

    Riding the Himalayas of India

In May and June of this year a mate and I from Knysna decided to ride the Himalayas of India. I in fact had booked to go on a guided tour the year before but just before that was about to happen Knysna caught fire and I lost my house and just about everything I owned (and no insurance). But Paul...

    Royal Enfield talk

Yes we definitely did acclimatise, spending time at lower altitudes and gradually working up to the higher altitudes. We got caught one night at high altitude (5500) in a snow blizzard and we both had early signs of altitude affecting us so we got out of there in a hurry. But on the whole, no...
