I had a similiar problem with intermittent starting problems. It was simply a loose connection. Check all your connections from the battery to the the CPU's etc.

Hey Gideon Nope. I went bigger on the front sprocket. I wanted to lower the revs when cruising on tar.

The best thing I've done to my 800XC is went one tooth bigger on the front sprocket. Just makes the bike so much smoother and instead of looking for another gear constantly, I often find myself in 5th with a gear in hand. The taller gearing also encourages you to  kick down a gear or two more...

I fitted the Unifilter without removing the tank. Not too difficult. Just use lots of lube!

Agree with XC Perfeksie 100 % Way better option than a GS even with stepper motor problem! At least you don't have to upgrade the front suspension like you would on the BMW.
