I've used the Safari Tank for years and its a quality bit of kit, although granted it is expensive.  Probably 70 or 80% of DR650's in Aus have the safari tank fitted - everyone who uses the DR for adv riding at home uses it as its the only tank which gives enough range for heading out into the...

Hey Buttslider - we are in Maun, Botswana.  We ended up staying our entire visa of 90 days in SA/Lesotho and had to make a run for the border.  Unfortunately the day we were going to leave for the last couple day run to the border, I dropped the oil to service the bikes and it went "clunk"...

also, there is a little white fuel filter that sits in the inlet barb, pull that out and check it. If the sieve starts to block it will reduce flow and exacerbate the problem Good luck.

Bensien, you still running the standard bst40 carb? If so, rotating the fuel inlet barb will help the fuel flow under gravity. I did mine with a shifter, it's screams and creaks a bit but will come around. With my aqualine safari tank, the fuel inlet barb rotated and the fuel lines run well I...
