It might be worth your while to remove the fuel pump and make sure everything is clean. Clean the tank, fuel pump and fuel lines as a start and it will only cost you some time in labour.

I have not come across this issue. I would suspect low fuel pressure/ dirty feul etc. Does it only happen on start up? Has it occurred only with the current petrol in the tank? How does the bike perform at higher RPM?

So in other words, it increases fuel at closed throttle, reducing engine braking.

A friend of mine had the exact same issue. Replaced under warranty by the supplier. They also gave him the black plastic parts to replace on the helmet.

I started the bike from cold this afternoon. It only started after the 4th try. Swinging the motor for 3 to 4 seconds at a time. I have no idea what the issue is. Its just strange that its only on start up. I have done 250km since the previous issue and started the bike at least 20 times since...

The pump does prime when switched on. The bike has had a pre-filter since 20k km back(for what its worth) , but with regards to the valves..... 2 ex valves were stil in spec, but at the minimun tolerance, 2 were a tad too small. I set them all the max 0.20mm+0.02mm. 1 inlet was also at the min...

Yes the HISS light behaves normal. Only sometimes the FI light will remain on if the bike struggled to start. When I switch the bike off and start again the FI light stays off as it should. But also, if the bike eventually starts, I can switch it of and I can start it up immediately...

I use my bike for commuting and I have some time on my hands till Sunday. I am going to check the valve clearance again for pease of mind. Also the stator and every single sensor according to the manual. I will also check all the connections. I'll report back if i find anything abnormal...
