Its a 2009 with just over 50000 km. What to look out for? Primarily need something to commute with at the moment but will be used for a fair bit of weekend gravel travels. Have always wanted a KLR so now is my chance.

Looking at routes for a trip in March, and thinking of doing a short ride through Swaziland. Enter - Mahamba and exit - Golela Getting some conflicting info on border crossing requirements. What is required? Is it full requirements like Namibia etc or is it like Lesotho?

So about 10km from work Monday morning bike developed Krrr metalish grinding noise on shifts and deceleration. Was silent under power so gently rode to the office. Bike was put on a trailer to Bikestyle and preliminary assessment is front nuckle disintegration and perhaps gearbox damage...

Worked perfectly this weekend with the 1000km ride, rest of the week and yesterday no issues to work and back, This morning just cranking. Any ideas?

My starter clutch seems to be slipping. It does not engage and turn the motor. Happens intermittently. Have searched but not found any results. Can someone do a clean or recon on it, or do I look for a second hand unit?

I am in the market for a new dual type helmet, which ones have easy access for bluetooth headset speakers? This would not be my only reason for choosing a helmet but is on the ticklist. Do not want to cut or modify anything. My Fullface Shoei Xspirit has it fitted now, but cannot locate them...

Due for the 60 000km service now. I can do the oil change myself, but I suspect the cam chain tensioner needs attention and not sure of valve clearances. My options are : 1 - book in at bmw to do everything. I suspect this will be very expensive? Anyone with idea of what this service will...

Only thing about the 800 I dont like is the rattle. Do we have something like this available in SAor is there another solution. Bike almost going for service.

So what is the most cost effective GPS to purchase, that can take tracks from basecamp/mapsource and comms via bluetooth or whatever to helmet comm device? I dont want to Spend R 10 000 on the new zumo...

How safe is it to wild camp in Lesotho? For example when you decide to stop for the day, no villages around, and you (if possible) get a few 100m away from the road and pitch your tent?
