2 years ago, I rented a new BMW 700GS from Sama Tours in Pretoria.  https://www.samatours.co.za/ I found they were the best deal in S.Africa and I was really happy with my 2 week rental.  Just be careful though as they do a thorough check afterwards to make sure you didn't hit any potholes...

Hi there, I'm a Canadian travelling to S.Africa this November for a 3 week holiday and was wondering about people's opinions on whether it's best to rent a bike or buy a bike (and then sell it). I'm leaning towards a BMW650-700GS for this trip.  I rented a bike in Pretoria a couple of years ago...

kwagga, i'll probably be heading to sani pass on oct 14-15 after i pick up my rental in pretoria; i guess you'll be long gone by then

i'm thinking about riding from Maseru to Sani Pass and Underberg.  Does anyone know where fuel is available between Maseru and Sani Pass?  Also, is it a scenic trip through Lesotho? TIA
