Went to start my bike this morning to be greeted with a grating metal sound when pressing the ignition. Rode the bike yesterday without any hint of an issue. To check start-up I kick-started the bike with no issues so my only assumption is that the starter motoring is playing up (starter clutch...

I have a 2004 640 and love it to bits...the only down-side is the lack of a kickstand, which, as I discovered in the mountainous Lesotho recently can be problematic when there is no flat land in sight! Any views out there on the best place to source a side-stand and/or any other relevant advice?
