In 2008 i did a 4 month trip from CT to Cairo ( Actually Alexandria ) in a Landcruiser. I recently went thru my photo's and deceided these were the kind of roads made for a DS Bike. Please excuse the fotos with the cage.

Just a warning from a Beemer guy - The service and friendliness is amazing and the tyre prices excellent - Thanx Gustav and staff. Walked out with a much thinner wallet than what i entered - go shop their !!!!!

Luckily no injuries , the rider lives close by to me ( of the Dakar) Apparently everyone stopped and he bracked hard,the next moment he just heard a crash behind him. Was his lucky day

Hi was in CT on Tuesday , stuck in a roadblock, when i noticed  fan coming on and my temp rising quite quickly. I reaken it was about 28 degrees.My coolent level is on the correct mark. Any other 800 owners picking up the same that the bike gets hot while travelling in city start stop conditions ??

A mate of mine is keen to buy a bike to commute as well as do the occasional weekend ride and a longer trip every now and then ie Hell,Baviaans, West Coast. Due to a budget constraint of plus minus R45k ( like every1 ealse) he has to shop around.My opinion a good bike will be an AT or a XT. Any...

Does anyone know where i can get a crank for an AT ?

Just got news from a mate of mine, a white f800gs hit an AC cobra in Stellenbosch close to the flying field, he was worried it was me and called.They were lifting the bike onto a flatbed as he drove pass. Hope the guy is ok...has anyone got any info ????? :o

Any info on what the range on the 800 g is more or less. I know that alot of things influence this like driving technique,city vs open road and so on,but what would a good average range be ?

Finally took delivery of my F800 GS on Saturday.Opted for the new white colour.So after 4 years on the trusty AT im officially a beemer man. Have put on abot 650 km in 2 half days...only problem is this moerse smile on my face that just doesnt want to dissapear. Friday is "d" day for the fitment...

Hi everyone,new member Drifter. I ride a Africa Twin. Just returned from the Baviaans with two mates. Looking foward to reading bout good routes and general bike info.

Howzit all just came back from 4 days in the Baviaans.Abs blast.Have some minor problems(indicators broke off,exhaust brackets ect)Does any one know a AT specialist in Cape Town area.Bike needs tLc and fine tuning ?
