    TTR 250 Owners Thread

Hi Smoky Just thought I will check whether you have found a rear rack?  I might finally attempt to fabricate one myself, but that might just be too much for my capabilities - but not having been able to source one here it seems like the next best option.

DR650 - Aftermarket fuel tank advice

Hi jdvisagie Did you end up importing one?  I am also currently looking around at options - I imported and fitted one (Acerbis) myself for my TTR250 a few years ago.  But looking at options for my brother's DR to get it ready for a trip when he arrives mid-March.

Gravel ride for 250cc bikes (Saturday Nov 3)

Ah man - would have loved to go - but Saturday morning had to be at the school to sort out the little one's uniform for Grade 1.  Hope you had a good time Robin, and thanks for the heads-up Katana.  Still need to see Zanie's Rally in person, one day!

    Wuperthal - Oasis

Glad you had an epic trip!  Lovely roads for the 250.  :thumleft: The heat was intense this weekend indeed - luckily missed it somewhat last weekend - but going down from Pakhuis to Clanwilliam it felt like descending into a cauldron!

    Wuperthal - Oasis

All lovely riding at the moment MGV - was there last weekend on a solo with my 250, and enjoyed the outing.  Only the Doringrivier that might still be too flooded to cross, but that you will not encounter off course on the route you mention.  Enjoy!  :ricky:

    Namaqualand exploring

A part of the world that I am also not very familiar with at all.  Would love to some day explore slowly and properly on my little 250 - did not know you are from that part of the world Crossed-up.  When are you planning to go ultraflight; or this really just putting some feelers out at the...

    TTR 250 Owners Thread

Where can you get the Kenda K270 skydiver? I have been considering them as I commute so much on mine ... but as of yet been unable to source them here in Cape Town.

    TTR 250 Owners Thread

Oh nice - hope the stars are in your favour!  :thumleft:  Better post a pic of it.  :) Trying to convince a mate to buy one - but he is a bit slow on the uptake, every time one comes available he is still pondering.  As for tyre sizes, currently I am running Michelin T63's front and back in...

A duo of TTR's looking to get lost, or die trying...

What a lekker ride, thanks for sharing - albeit having to be vague.    >:D Had to mission to Botrivier on Saturday, took the opportunity to look for some "off-the-road" moments.

    Going (s)lightly Postal

Thanks BradT - been a long time must do, well, since getting the TTR.  And now cannot wait to do it again.  ::) Must admit, was expecting it to be colder, but it was rather mild considering it was August - have had it colder in October even.  Must be very special doing it with your son ... 2...

    Yamaha DT125 personal thoughts needed

Reading this (and watching the movie) makes me miss the good old days on the farm with 2 stroke filling your nostrils!  Congratulations on a nice buy / bike!  Really mint condition.  No Quarry ride for me tomorrow unfortunately, have to run some errands and have mates coming around for a...

250 (-350) Dual sport options - TTR vs ... what else?

Katana: Saw some pics on the Quarriors whatsapp - looked like a lekker ride indeed.  WeeStrom: I sat on the N2 today (had to go pick something up in Botrivier and played a bit in the burnt out pine plantations on Highlands Road), got a bit impatient and the TTR sat at 115 to 120 back home for...

    Wanted: Honda CRF 250L

Remember drooling over that grey DR when it was available for sale ... really a beautiful machine.  :drif: And I actually have a DR standing at my place also (it is my brother's), so also have access to that 250 / 650 combo - but just run the DR now and again (work and back) to keep the battery...

    XR250 day trip....Jhb - Belfast - Jhb

Thanks for sharing Blauth ... been watching Namakwalanders XR's transformation closely (must still comment there) ... and when I saw your plan to go lightweight I was wondering what you will get, seems like you got a good deal indeed on your Tornado.  :thumleft:

250 (-350) Dual sport options - TTR vs ... what else?

Absolutely love my TTR - it is my do "everything" bike - but first and foremost it is my daily commuter in the Cape Town traffic that is just getting progressively worse.  A job it does absolutely admirably being nimble and light.  Secondly it is my weekend warrior, from playing in the sand to...

    Wanted: Honda CRF 250L

Looking around for a 250 / 400 for a mate of mine, so seen a few CRF's - this one is a good buy: https://www.olx.co.za/item/honda-crf250l-2013-model-iid-1051374278 If it was not for being on the other side of the world ...
