You are right, I have to return. It´s impossible to do South Africa in a Week. And we had problems with the bikes. We visited the BMW-dealer in George three days. And still we had to return bikes that wasn´t good enough. Hope they are checked well before anyone else hires them.

You have to wait some months. It´s winter and the bikes are stowed away. :( Ice and snow makes the norwegians stay in our houses.

I bought Pirelli Scorpion for my bike, and have those tyres for my little Varadero as well. They work fine for me. May be a little to hard rubber if it gets cold early spring and late autumn here in Norway.  So stay of the snowy roads with them.

The Shetland Islands has traditions that I´we never heard about. So I can´t help you with this. We are not so familiar with wiking living in Norway for time being.
