I have recently moved from an 08 KLR to a 2004 Dakar and while I really enjoyed the KLR I found the Dakar much more refined both on and off-road. If you push a KLR off-road the suspension bottoms out and in the tight stuff being very top heavy gets tiring. The Dakar has better suspension out...
