    Lowering a 2007 KTM 300 XCW

Just wanted to give some feedback:  Mike lowered my bike successfully and after shaving another cm off the seat, my feet now touch the ground!  LOL I am super comfy with the 300 now

    Lowering a 2007 KTM 300 XCW

LOL if only a rack and height transfer could be as easy!!!  :laughing4: I am more than happy to sacrifice handling for being able to get my feet on the ground.  Can you give me more info on the shortened linkages?  A name or something?  Clearly I am not the technical type...

    Lowering a 2007 KTM 300 XCW

I'm 1.63m and just bought a 2007 KTM 300 XCW.  There is of course just one problem:  the bike is too high for me.  So what I need to do is lower it as much as possible without having wheels scrape fenders or something like that.  What I need to know is how I can lower the bike.  I know I can...

    Wanted: F650GS Lowered Spec

If you cannot find a lowered spec I can definately recommend you buy one with a lowered seat and order Kouba links https://www.koubalink.com/ to drop the suspension a little.  Made all the difference for me  ;)

Neck Braces - the future of road riding?

I am more worried about taxis than the guy in his new Volvo  ;D Wearing safety gear should never make you more reckless.  I just know that accidents do happen and it is not always the biker's fault.  Why would you think a neck brace lasts only three years?  A helmet lasts around 5 due to the...

Where to fit the little 'HID box' on a GS 650?

Chris...then you have not seen me ride  ::) I tend to spend a lot of time picking up my bike while playing offroad LOL - I am just worried I end up losing the HID box or damaging it if only secured with cable ties.  Or am I just being paranoid?  :eek7:

Where to fit the little 'HID box' on a GS 650?

Yep, the HID is simply amazing compared to the standard light  ;D But another question:  how do I attach the HID box behind the instrument panel?  I don't assume cable ties or superglue is going to work and welding anything there is probably not a good idea.  What are my options?

Neck Braces - the future of road riding?

Miles:  Leatt brace is like your helmet - how much is your life worth?  Unfortunately your head and neck are particularly vulnerable when falling and broken legs tend to heal a lot better than a broken neck. the_BOBONOB:  I am sure that is exactly how all of those scooter riders think when...

Where to fit the little 'HID box' on a GS 650?

Thanks for the reply  ;D Will some sort of protective casing be needed considering that it will definately be getting wet, jarred, dusty and full of mud?

I've been looking at https://www.ride-on.co.za/index.php but the CT rep is not answering my email!

Where to fit the little 'HID box' on a GS 650?

I bought my HID some time ago and not been riding for a few months.  A friend of mine wired it up for me, but ended up taping the little box thingy (Noooo idea what the tech term is) on the isnide of my screen with 3M tape... Now while this might work if I only rode on tar, it is definately...

Neck Braces - the future of road riding?

I use my Leatt for onroad as well as offroad and I cannot imagine riding without it anymore.  As for which to get - depends on your pocket.  I think there are 3 versions availalble now (of which I bought the middle one) and basically the difference is pretty much the weight and materials it is...

Motorbike Lisence - need some training

Also check out https://www.twowheels.co.za/ for K53 instructor training.  I'm booking for my license as soon as they open for September.  Not been on my bike for almost 9 months and need quite a bit of training & practise before the time!  I believe training should be a must for all bikers - I...

Three bikers assault elderly couple on bicycles

Calling someone names is absolutely no justification for hitting the elderly.  There is absolutely no excuse for such behaviour and it makes me ashamed to be 'associated by default' to people who behave like that.  The article was on the front page of the Cape Town Rapport and does nothing...

Knobbly tyres - need some advice please

I'll try it at a bit lower pressure.  The dealer told me 2.1 in front and 2.3 at the back for tar.  Don't the tyres wear quicker at lower pressure?

Knobbly tyres - need some advice please

Thanks for all the feedback guys :)  I ended up going for the TKC 80's front and back since I really don't care for riding fast on tar or doing long distance tar trips at this stage.  I was a little nervous riding home since I had no idea what the tyres would feel like, but I must say that I am...
