How to remove Road Tar from your bike?

Paraffin, NOT BRASSO, brasso is a rubbing compound, as mentioned. You can clean your chain at the same time. :)

Removing a chain with no master link

Use a ball penne hammer and something solid, 5 pound hammer for support to put the new chain in. Dont compress the pins too much.

    Who will admit?

Rain or shine, I was on the bike. My worst storm resulted in me head getting wet, the wind blew the rain underneath my helmet, my boots were full of water as well, I froze, I had to do 150km like that. If I still had a bike I would have been on it in this weather.

Chain too tight - any legal recourse?

I had the same problem with my service. Named and shamed, was the only recourse, I copied the DP in on my post on the web, as the chain was not the only problem with my service. Long story short, the mechanic was dismissed, it appears I was not the only complaint. I named and shamed because...

    Night riding

Hijack The number plate looks reversed. My bike was the same, (Illegal of course) Can anyone testify to the fact if it makes any difference to camera's etc? Hijack off On the night driving, I was told many times by mates, that they could not see me from behind. So reflective gear is a must...

The Wife, the Ex and the Kid

Beautiful tortoise, but this is for all you dogs out there who come across these on a weekly basis. FYI: As a matter of interest, a Tortoise keeps a store of water in his shell for those dry spells. (He moves at KLR speeds, it takes while to move from one water source to another) When you pick...

    My off last Sunday

Been there aswell. I used to watch the shadows between the cars/taxies etc when possible. That saved me a few times. The other thing to watch for the a-holes who open their doors at the robots 'to quickly get something out of the boot.' that gave me quite a few scares.

for the first time i understand why people like superbikes

Had the same feeling on a CBR600RR. Took it up to 230 in a heartbeat and still had more... loved the machine but it scared the crap out of me because I will take it to the limit. I found the bike comfortable and responsive. Awesome brakes. The only negative is that it was too low, the cars...

    Chains, sprockets and tubes.

Also did the paraffin thing. (±Every 1000 km's) I found a paint brush worked well, it was quicker than a toothbrush, Use a toothbrush for the stubborn sections. Got 26 thou out of my chain and it was still on the new marks. I found the biggest killer of chains was rain, washes all the lube...
