    Insurance buy-back.

I have twice had Outsurance tell me a vehicle was "uneconomical to repair". A few years ago, a bike, repairs were approx. 75% of insured value. I chose to get paid out 70% of insured value, less excess, and repaired it privately for half the payout value. E.g. respray tank rather than replace...

    Big Bag Pannier?

How wide is GSA-sized? The 800GSA with the bigger fuel tank and pannier racks is about 70cm wide at the bottom, but the profile is something like this (hope the ASCII art behaves):   ___ /    \ |      | Flat, 45deg, 90deg.

    Fluid Film (chain lube)

OK, after a failed delivery attempt on Thursday, they arrived at home today. So, you can collect during the day (typically 9-4 to be safe) in Sandton (cnr West & Katherine) or after 5 (typically) in Willow Acres, Pretoria East. I take the Gautrain so dropping off en-route is a bit difficult...

    Fluid Film (chain lube)

I've bought a box of 12 which should arrive on Wed, and after a friend and I take 1 each, there's 10 left, provisionally 5 here and 5 on the TB forum.

    Yes it's the aerosol can - 333g (11 3/4OZ) So tentatively it's: jano - 2 luv2ride - 1/2 ican - 1 iamgigglz - 1 GRIM - 1/2 OK, I'll buy a box.

    Fluid Film (chain lube)

So the importer is willing to sell to me at R200/tin if I take 4, plus R100 courier fee. Or R180/tin if I take a box of 12, not sure if the courier fee remains the same. I'll do a bulk buy if there's enough takers this side to make it worthwhile.

    Fluid Film (chain lube)

Anyone using Fluid Film / know where to get it in Gauteng? I like the single product for cleaning and lubrication. I was considering a Scott Oiler until I heard the price - can buy a lifetime supply of Fluid Film instead.

Should I commute with a bike?

I commuted from PtaEast to Joburg for 18 months. Because I believe in wearing all the gear, it does take some time to kit up and down at each end, which can eliminate your time savings for shorter trips. You also need somewhere to store most of the gear (helmet locked to handlebar, easyovers...
