There is a automotive rubber shop that sells beading, grommets, door rubber and everything rubber related in Boksburg near the East rand Mall. They sell a rubber glue that works on rubber and plastic items. Unfortunately I cannot remember their name.

I think the best solution is to either lengthen the A frame or move the axle rearwards. Your wheels/axle is probably too far forward on the frame. Did you load the bikes facing forward or to the rear? If facing the rear that may be your problem
