I haven’t taken it out yet but have used Easy-Out many times.  Common mistakes are that you must use the right size E-O relative to the Bolt size,  Drill deep  Hammer in the E-O use WD40. And don’t play  as you say breaking the tool in the bolt will spoil your lus for brandy and coke Sent...

Thanks CT that "gear box" section is too bulky as well, I have a Bosch Screwdriver with chuck that is more or less the same size as your and its about 1 inch too big 

They not expensive problem is that all those on Bid or buy are from outside of SA suppliers.  so their quoted 4-5 day could end up weeks.

Another test Would beputting jumpers on the starter while fitted. Or bridge the two positive in and out on the solinoid  If it swings  then there may be a voltage drop between the battery and the  solinoid  -  there's 2 circuits to this  as you know  So it's a bit of divide and conquer
