The Oregon is a nice , easy to use unit that is rugged and water proof. I like mine but do agree that the screen brightness is a bit of a problem. However if its connected to mains power the screen stays lit up for easier nav. If you tilt it to reflect the sun towards you, you can clearly see...

Thanks Plonka, I try my best to retain the value and still enjoy the capabilities.Covering it with 3m plastic in the vunerable spots helps a huge amount for small little stone chips etc. I have upgraded to another S. Last one unfortunately died in an accident. I missed her toooo much.LOL RR
