Pondoland with a cracked rib... !

Kev, Al and I trailered the bikes to Matata and stayed with an old friend, Dre. Power failure in Mtata, so we decided to watch the Bokke beat Ireland at a hotel in Butterworth. Al nearly got another wife... Went to watch some soccer with some of Dre's friends and admired their fine art...

    Up Van Zyls Again... ;-)

Jimjim: The pass is epic & you must be well prepared!  The sting in the tail is that you think you have "done" the pass, when the worst is still to come. Pace yourself!  :laughing4:

    Up Van Zyls Again... ;-)

There were a few folks who gave use kark. But we explained patiently that bikes have a MUCH lighter footprint than 4x4's. The important thing is not to spin the back wheel. In any case we pushed some of the bike up the really steep sections...  :3some:

    Koakoland - September?

Hi Folks, I am ken to go back and do Van Zyls "the wrong way" again. Or should we do it the right way? ;) Kevin and I are keen. Looking for a few more riders. The plan would be to trailer up the bikes and do some good riding in Kaokoland. (Can use my bakkie & trailer - ok for 3 bikes, maybe 4)...

    Van Zyl's Pass the _WRONG_ way - May2009 ;)

Van Zyl’s the WRONG Way! (Don’t do it - HAHAHA) Four of us left Cape Town on a windy Thursday night - the 14th May 2009. The idea was to trailer the bikes to an old school friend’s farm, Khan River Lodge near Omaruru, and ride from there up the most westerly side of Namibia, before crossing...
