Proof that bikes on Africa trips don't always need to be loaded to the hilt.

Castrol Edge Sport 10W60 was suggested for oil replacement on a >50000km F800. After a few hundred kilometers running with this oil, now all of a sudden when engine runs for about 40km oil warning light sometimes comes on. Could this be an oil type problem?

SW Junior drove way too fast in town and lost bike around corner. Both are OK now. I repaired bike myself at less than R3k, but son's repairs cost a lot more - over & above those covered by medical aid. Glad he's OK, and he seems more cautious after this incident.

Well, in this year the bike was almost wrecked and rose up again within 6 weeks.

I'd really like to know all the comments on your way about the baboon skull on Wouter's bike - especially from the chap chained to tree (before your refueling at Malange).
