    Mozambique, oh Mozambique!

We first thought that we may be able to turn the ignition by breaking the levers in the lock, but unfortunately we did not have the correct tools, and it just made a mess of the whole thing. Getting the ignition part detached from the lock was not too difficult, but riding around in circles with...

Yeah, great sandpit. Heavier on 2M than petrol.

    Mozambique, oh Mozambique!

It was that time of the year again for a little adventure. This time we decided to explore some parts of southern Mozambique. Unfortunately this time the usual crowd could not make it so we were reduced to two bikes. We started our trip in Nelspruit, and travelled via the old road to Maputo...

    Makgadikgadi - Botswana

The TT was the one with the shortest range, covering +-210Km on a tank, plus we had an extra 5 L handy, thus extending the range up to +- 300 Km.

    Makgadikgadi - Botswana

We were 3 bikes, so we could take more risks, unlike you on one bike.

    4Corners Tour

Sorry for not uploading the rest of the trip sooner, but most of the time we did not have cell coverage, or being too tired. Day 12. It started out bad and was only going to get worse. First, one of the Dakar?s had a flat battery due to being dropped several times in the thick sand the previous...

    4Corners Tour

Day11- A long leg, 660 km from Goodhouse to Van Zylsrus. A lot of sand on single track roads. Plenty of close calls, and a Duiker as a trophy for Eugene, but unfortunately no time to eat it. We are back on track time wise, but the next couple of days it is going to hell to make the distance.

    4Corners Tour

Day10- Aahhh, the most bautiful leg of the trip so far. From Brandkaros we entered the Richterveld communal concervernancy to Vioolsdrift, then we took the Namaqa 4x4 track to Goodhouse. It was the most bautiful track I have ever ridden . - Leo, the KTM is in the gerage, it was the BMW's turn...

    4Corners Tour

Day9 - We had a woonderful time in Loeriesfontein with the locals. Once again it was overcast with drizzle in the morning, but it cleared as we left the mountains. Most of the roads were wide and open with the accasional muddy patch. We were able to reach Alexander bay, the most western point...

    4Corners Tour

Day8- We left Stellenbosch in horrible weather. Near Ceres it was raining cats and dogs and was very cold. The road to Calvinia was spectacular , but a strong side wind strained our necks. A total of 480 km was covered to Loeriesfontein.

    4Corners Tour

Day7- We spent the day fitting tyres and fixing things. Herman from Stellenbosch Motorbikes helped us out by organising tyres in record time and making his workshop available. All bike shops have a thing or two to learn from him about service. We have also been treated to top class hospitality...

    4Corners Tour

Flat batery again! We had to tow start the Dakar, but once we got going, everything went ok. Everyday we are amazed by the spectacular roads and scenery. We reached Cape Agulhas, the most southrnpoint on the African continent, at 2pm. All the bikes had almost no tread left on the rear tyres, so...

    4Corners Tour

Day5, and we have a problem. One of the Dakar's battery keeps on running down during the night. Fortunately Graaf Reinet has a battery center but not the correct battery. We had to fill it up with new acid and jumped started it from one of the other bikes. It cost us a lot of time and we managed...

    4Corners Tour

We got of to a muddy start from Ficksburg. Everything was still wet from all the rain, but fortunately the weather turned for the better. What an awsome day's riding! Spectacular tracks and scenery. The last 30km of gravel was hell though, pitch dark and very muddy. I will do the Dusty Butt any...

    4Corners Tour

17 April, we left Ntendeka at 9:45. Some of the nicest tracks were encountered today. We passed through Utrecht, Newcastle, Harrismith, Fouriesburg to arrive in Ficksburg at around 6 pm. The last 50 km was done in torrential rain, soaking as to our bones. The camp site was a river and we decided...
