Wanted 125 / 250cc for a kid who has just started working

A friend of mine is looking for a 125 or 250cc.. preferably a bike and not a scooter for her son who has just started an internship.. the kid is only getting R3k a month so bucks is tight but he has R12k saved up for a bike. The mom is scooter shopping, please lets save this kid from getting a scooter.
