Before you bunch of dogs start barking at me that this is a MOUNTAIN BIKE event and not a DS event, please read the full post... :pot:  :peepwall:  :ricky:

Aldo (Touratech) and I formed Team QASA to enter and participate in the Old Mutual joBerg2c extreme mountain bike event. The purpose of the entry is to raise funds and create awareness for the QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA). The event is held over nine days, starting 26 April 2013 from the south of Johannesburg and ending 4 May 2013 in Scottburgh.

QASA was established in 1978. Since then the organisation has grown to include seven provincial offices. QASA’s mission is to serve quadriplegics, paraplegics and the disability sector in general in whatever capacity. The organisation aims to assist people with mobility impairments to lead independent lives with a decent standard of living, in areas ranging from personal care and assistive devices to adequate skills development and employment.

For more information regarding QASA’s projects and events, please visit their website at www.qasa.co.za.

The Event
The Old Mutual joBerg2c is part race and part adventure. It will take competitors through the country, from the heat and dust of the big city to the cool crisp air of the sea via spectacular mountainous passes. A community-driven formula is used. This has the incredible effect of uplifting communities and of giving them a way to raise money for their schools, churches and charities. Every organisation who works on the Old Mutual joBerg2c is paid. From road crossings to watering points, it is a way for these communities to raise money and work together for fun (www.joberg2c.co.za).

The Old Mutual joBerg2C has broad media coverage, with daily highlights on Supersport and in the printed media.
